The method involves combing an uncut Hair fit (1) by a comb and holding the hair fit between two adjacent fingers (7) of a hand (6) approximately perpendicular to course of parallel hair. A scissor (2) is held by other hand and is opened diagonally or vertically to course direction of hair. The sliding movement (9'') and closing movement (9') of scissor are performed simultaneously along course direction of hair to attain an arcuate cutting line (8) which is perpendicular to fingers. Several cutting lines are formed by repeating sliding and closing movements of scissor. An independent claim is included for device for cutting hair.
