<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: novel inhibitors of mitotic kinesins, in particular the mitotic kinesin KSP; pharmaceutical compositions containing the inhibitors; and methods for preparing these inhibitors. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to inhibitors of mitotic kinesins, particularly KSP, and methods for producing these inhibitors. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising the inhibitors and methods of utilizing the inhibitors and pharmaceutical compositions in the treatment and prevention of various disorders.
