<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which avoids crushing the fine gradation of an image and erroneously enhancing noise. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor 100, which receives a luminance signal of an image, performs contour enhancement of the signal, and outputs the signal comprises a low-luminance noise suppression processing circuit 140, a contour detection circuit 150, and a nonlinear processing circuit 160. The low-luminance noise suppression processing circuit 140 reduces a luminance value received from a line memory 110 using a predetermined function, and outputs the luminance value. The contour detection circuit 150 detects contour information of a subject image from the luminance value on the basis of the positional relation between a target pixel and a peripheral pixel. The nonlinear processing circuit 160 performs core ring processing on a contour information amount Y<SB POS="POST">edge</SB>(x,y) received from the contour detection circuit 150. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
