摘要 PURPOSE: An electronic passport authentication system using an invisible instrument sensing element and a method thereof are provided to fundamentally prevent illegal use of an electronic passport by not visualizing main data of identity information and issue a machine readable zone as two types of the invisible instrument sensing element. CONSTITUTION: An invisible image optics sensor unit(210) reads a checksum area and a personal information data area of a machine readable zone. An invisible image extracting unit(220) extracts data read from the areas of the machine readable zone. An invisible image collecting unit(230) collects the data and generates one machine readable zone original image data. A radio frequency communicating unit(240) generates a secrete key value used for communication of an electronic passport(100) based on the machine readable zone original image data and communicates with a radio frequency chip(110) of the electronic passport.
