<p>Disclosed is an apparatus for an air induction system of a motor vehicle. The air induction system comprises an induction passage 102, a pulsation damper absorber pack 120 which provides a noise/vibration damping means and a hydrocarbon trapping medium 130 located between the passage 102 way and the absorber pack. The hydrocarbon trapping medium 130 traps any fuel passing back from the engine in to the induction system which may occur due to evaporation of fuel leading to fuel vapours escaping from the engine when the engine is either stopped and not running or due to backwash from an engine. A former, cage 150, may be provided to define the passage way with a filter such as a gauze or mesh 140, hydrocarbon trap 130 and noise damper provided around the former.</p> |
