PURPOSE: A water separator for a diesel engine is provided to prevent malfunction of a PTC element, as a PTC heater comprises the PTC element and a heating plate to prevent deformation or cracks in the PTC element. CONSTITUTION: A water separator for a diesel engine comprises a filter unit(100), a filter cap(120), a heating plate, and a PTC(positive temperature coefficient) heater. The filter unit filters foreign materials in fuel. The filter cap is installed on the filter unit, and comprises a fuel inlet and outlet(121,122). The heating plate is connected to the lower part of the filter cap. The PTC heater is connected to the heating plate. The heating plate is formed into a circular shape and comprises a plurality of first fastening holes. The PTC heater is formed into a plate shape in a circumferential direction and comprises a second fastening holes corresponding to the first fastening holes. Bolts are coupled to the first and second fastening holes.
