The access closure assembly 10 comprises a frame 12 defining an opening 16 and a closure member in the form of a door 20 which comprises first and second parts the second of which is slidable relative to the other between locked and unlocked positions. The first part has a hinge 22 which attaches to the frame. When the closure member is in the closed position the second part can be moved to urge the closure member against the frame. The assembly preferably includes a catch arrangement, comprising first members on the closure member that engage with corresponding second members on the frame, to retain the closure member in the closed position. The catch members may be resiliently deformable to permit them to be mounted together and when they are engaged they urge the closure member against the frame.
