<p>A device controller, a method and a computer program product are disclosed. The device controller comprises: a voltage controller operable to provide a supply voltage to a device operable to receive data and to provide resultant data; and error rate control logic operable to receive an indication of a target error rate of resultant data provided by the device, to determine a value of the supply voltage based on the target error rate by reference to error rate characteristic data providing error rates when operating the device at different values of supply voltage and to provide an indication of the value of the supply voltage to the voltage controller to supply the value of the supply voltage to the device. By relaxing a zero error probability requirement in the resultant data, the power consumption of the device can be reduced considerably.</p> |
