PURPOSE: A lightweight support bar with high strength and manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the durability, and to prevent the change in material property by forming a strength reinforcing layer on a core layer. CONSTITUTION: A lightweight support bar with high strength comprises a core layer(10) and a strength reinforcing layer. The core layer is made of thermoplastic foam. The outer surface of the core layer is coated with the strength reinforcing layer. The strength reinforcing layer is made of FRP(Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic). The thickness of the strength reinforcing layer is 1~50mm.
