<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material and its utilization wherein the material which is superior in discharge capacity and charge capacity can be provided when used as a substituting material of a lithium ion secondary battery and which can be used as a substituting material of cobalt-containing compound such as LiCoO<SB>2</SB>. <P>SOLUTION: This positive electrode active material contains iron bacteria forming iron oxide formed by the iron bacteria. The iron bacteria forming iron oxide formed by the iron bacteria has higher amorphous property than that of synthesized iron oxide, and it is considered that many gaps are formed in order that lithium ions invade into them. Accordingly, the positive electrode active material which becomes a material for the lithium ion secondary battery superior in discharge capacity and charge capacity, and which can be used as a substituting material of cobalt-containing compound such as LiCoO<SB>2</SB>can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
