PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of isosorbide from sorbitol using ionic liquid is provided to use ionic liquid instead of acid catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of isosorbide from sorbitol using ionic liquid removes water and uses ionic liquid while dehydrating sorbitol in order to manufacture the isosorbide and sorbitan. The manufacturing method additionally includes the following steps: extracting the isosorbide and sorbitan by using organic solvent which does not dissolve ionic liquid; distilling a mixed solution of isosorbide and sorbitan; and separating the isosorbide and sorbitan through chromatography from the concentrated mixed solution.
