PURPOSE: A rust resisting composition and a method for rust resist are provided to change rust on a metal structure into coating by applying the rust resisting composition to the metal structure. CONSTITUTION: A rust resisting composition comprises 30-40 weight% of distilled water, 25-35 weight% of phosphoric acid, 10-15 weight% of a zinc-based compound, 8-15 weight% of a metal compound, 3-5 weight% of an oxidizing agent, 5-10 weight% of a pH adjuster, 0.01-0.05 weight% of a corrosion inhibitor, 3-5 weight% of a chelating agent, and 1- 3 weight% of a water-soluble resin. The zinc-based compound is one or more selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, zinc nitrate, diethylzinc, and dimethyl zinc. The metal compound is one or more selected from the group consisting of a nickel compound, a manganese compound, and a tin compound.
