PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for detecting LED fluorescent substance coating are provided to reduce an LED package discarded due to a color coordinate fault by repetitively coating a fluorescent substance for a desired color coordinate by monitoring optical characteristics when the fluorescent substance of the LED package is coated. CONSTITUTION: An LED package(110) comprises a pair of lead frames, a package mold, an LED chip, a molding material, and a fluorescent substance. A fluorescent substance coating means(130) performs coating of a fluorescent substance in the LED package. A window clamp(120) supplies a current to a lead frame of the LED package. A fluorescent substance detection means(140) detects optical characteristics of the coated fluorescent substance.
