A friction unit for material testing on wear comprises a specimen and a counter-specimen with smooth working surfaces with same widths and same distances between the ends of those, at that the width of working surfaces is equal to distance between those. The specimen and the counter- specimen are placed with respective axial displacement of their working surfaces to different sides along the generatrix of each of those.
