PURPOSE: An image data blending method, a display system, and a non-transitory computer readable memory are provided to increase the resolution and brightness of a display image by individually controlling a light emitter of backlight to display an image. CONSTITUTION: A display system includes an array(120) of light emitting sources(122). A first RGB image data path includes an input gamma module(105), a gamut mapping(GMA) function(140), a subpixel rendering module(150) and an output inverse gamma module(115). The first RGB image data path generates output image data for display on panel. A second data path includes a peak function block(110). The peak function block computes values for individual light emitters in array.
