PURPOSE: A roaming system and method for a wireless data service are provided to embody the successive roaming service of a terminal without using a specific controller in a wireless data service environment by immediately updating an MAC(Multiple Access Computer) address for a basic gateway. CONSTITUTION: Wireless repeaters(200,300) transmits an update request for updating specific address information within a gateway address information table according to the apparatus access movement request of a specific terminal. A terminal(100) requests apparatus access to the specific wireless repeater. The terminal updates the information corresponding to the specific address information stored in the gateway address information table according to the reception of the update request.
