PURPOSE: A light emitting diode substrate and a light emitting diode are provided to improve luminous efficiency by forming a sapphire substrate surface with a plurality of top triangular and lower hexagon tapers. CONSTITUTION: A sapphire substrate(100) has a surface(104) which is formed into top triangular and lower hexagon tapers(102). Each of the top triangular and lower hexagon tapers comprises a hexagon taper(106) and a triangular taper(108) above the hexagon taper. A pitch of the top triangular and lower hexagon tapers is less than 10μm. Each maximum height of the top triangular and lower hexagon tapers has the range of 1μm to 2μm. The top(108a) of the triangular taper is a plane or a pointed end. |
