PURPOSE: A radiation shielding member including a radiation shielding material of a nano-size and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce a mean free path of radiation in a shielding material by increasing collision probability of the radiation and the shielding material in comparison with the shielding material consisting of a radiation shielding material. CONSTITUTION: A polymer base material is selected from a group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, epoxy, synthetic rubber, natural rubber, silicon rubber, and fluorine group rubber having 80.0-99.0 weight%. The surface of a radiation shielding material is coated with one surfactant which is selected from the group of the polymer base material. A radiation shielding member is formed by uniformly dispersing a radiation shielding material of 1.0-20.0 weight% having the nano-size of 10-900nm for improving radiation shielding capability. |
