METHOD FOR DETECTION OF CONTACTLESS RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a contactless receiver in a magnetic field of an antenna of a contactless reader to reduce power consumption in a standby phase where no receiver is present.

SOLUTION: A method for detecting a contactless receiver includes the steps of: exciting the antenna of the reader by applying a potential difference comprising a ramp (Fm) between first and second values of the potential difference, and a plateau (Pl) at the second value of the potential difference following the ramp; measuring a response of the antenna during the plateau; comparing the measured response and a reference response; and determining presence or absence of the receiver in the magnetic field of the antenna of the contactless reader on the basis of a result of the comparison.
