To provide a support for mounting a light-emitting element, which has excellent heat dissipation properties, and of which damage of the base plate or the decrease in hermetic by heat are suppressed even when a high power light-emitting element is mounted. A support 1 for mounting a light-emitting element, which comprises an insulating base plate 2 having a mounting portion on which a light-emitting element is to be mounted, and a lead frame 3 for packaging the light-emitting element 7 to be mounted on the insulating base plate 2, integrally formed, wherein the insulating base plate 2 is made of a sintered product of a glass ceramic composition containing a low temperature melting glass powder and a ceramic filler, and the softening point (Ts) of the low temperature melting glass powder is at most 630° C.
