GROUPS PROTECTION METHOD AND SYSTEM

Disclosed is a groups protection method. The method comprises: upon detecting that a fault occurs on a service layer, a node receiving service data determining a protection group in groups affected by the service layer, and performing protection switching operation on each protection group in the groups at its own side. Also disclosed is a groups protection system. By using the method and system of the present invention, groups protection may be implemented effectively without affecting individual protection in the groups.
