The invention relates to a photoreactor for the treatment of polluted water, comprising a tank (14) including: a volume of polluted water (14); a inlet pipe (18) and an outlet pipe (19); at least one air diffuser element (16) located on the base of the tank (15); at least one module (112, 212) located inside the tank (15) and comprising structures (13, 23, 33, 43) in turn supporting a plurality of light radiating elements (11, 21, 31, 41) in contact with the volume of polluted water (14), said light radiating elements (11, 21, 31, 41) being covered with a catalyst designed to be activated upon contact with the light radiation radiated by the light radiating elements (11, 21, 31, 41). The light radiating elements (11, 21, 31, 41) are disposed in horizontal parallel planes in respect of the water line and the at least one air diffuser element (16) is designed to introduce air bubbles perpendicularly to said horizontal planes, such that the air bubbles must follow a labyrinthine path when passing between the light radiating elements (11, 21, 31, 41), thereby generating turbulence in the volume of polluted water (14) and promoting contact between the pollutant and the catalyst.
