<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented film excellent in moisture dimensional stability and suitable as a base film of a magnetic recording medium, especially a digital data storage or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented film is composed of an aromatic polyester composition (E) which contains 8-30 mass% of a polyetherester (D) comprising a dicarboxylic acid component represented by formula (B) and a diol component represented by formula (C), in an aromatic polyester (A).
