<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, since a downlight that is embedded in a ceiling, a wall or the like and uses an LED is itself hardly cooled nor around its surrounding space as heat radiated is exhausted and stays in the rear of the ceiling or the wall that is an installation place of the downlight, it causes deterioration of light-emitting efficiency, deterioration of the light-emitting part, and a short life. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting part with the LED fitted is installed integrally on one side of a heat sink having heat sink fins formed radially in the surroundings to make a light-emitting unit, and the light-emitting unit is housed in a cylinder body with both ends open. Further, the cylinder body having the light-emitting unit housed is housed in a cylindrical case with one side closed by a closing lid while having a gap between the outer circumference of the cylinder and the inner circumference of the case and between the cylinder body and the closing lid.
