<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated tool excellent in wear resistance and coated in a state of having high adhesion strength so that a boride film is not peeled off even under a harsh usage environment, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The coated tool is excellent in the wear resistance, and is coated with a hard film on the surface of the base material of the tool through an intermediate film. The hard film is a boride of one or more elements selected from Al, Si, Cr, W, Ti, Nb, and Zr and has a hexagonal crystal structure. The intermediate film is a nitride or a carbonitride comprising AlxMy (wherein, x, y denote an atomic ratio, x+y=100, 40≤x≤95, 5≤y≤60, M is one or more selected from Ti, Cr, V, and Nb), and the base material side has a cubic crystal structure and the hard film side has the hexagonal crystal structure. The hard film is preferably a boride of Ti.
