<p>The present invention provides a portable terminal device that, when a plurality of external power supplies for charging are present, is capable of communicating to a user the status of use of the external power supplies. The portable terminal device is provided with: a secondary cell charged by electrical power provided by any of a plurality of external power supplies; a detector for detecting that individual external power supplies are connected; a power-supply-status-determining unit for determining, based upon a result from the detector, a power supply status indicating whether charging is to be performed using the plurality of external power supplies; a selector for selecting from among the plurality of external power supplies an external power supply to be used for charging on the basis of the power supply status of each of the plurality of external power supplies as determined by the power-supply-status-determining unit, and an external power supply priority order that is the order in which the external power supplies for providing electrical power to the secondary cell are selected from among the plurality of external power supplies; a charger for charging the secondary cell using electrical power provided from the external power supply selected by the selector; and an output unit for outputting information representing the external power supply selected by the selector.</p> |
