Cooling component comprises a base body, where a cellular metallic foam body (6) is arranged on at least one surface (3) of the base body. The wall thickness of at least one portion of cellular walls (8), which is arranged close to surfaces defining cells (7) of the metallic foam body, is greater than the wall thickness of the cellular walls arranged away from the surface. An independent claim is also included for producing the above cooling component, comprising providing at least one metallic foam body, connecting the metallic foam body at least in section-wise with at least one surface of the base body.
