The arrangement has a heater (11) arranged in the flow direction partially upstream of the filter (3) into an exhaust gas stream. The heater is arranged for heating the exhaust gas stream and the filter or soot in the filter. A rear extraction (30) of energy is provided from the exhaust gas stream, where the heater is heated by the recovery energy. The recovery energy of the heater is directly supplied in the form of electric current. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a retrofit kit for installation in an exhaust system; (2) a method for regeneration of a filter for the treatment of combustion exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine; and (3) a method for producing an arrangement for the regeneration of a filter for the treatment of combustion exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine.
