<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine, in which a diesel particulate filter can be regenerated efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The diesel engine includes an oxide catalyst 61, the diesel particulate filter 62, and a control means (8) for estimating an amount of particulate substances deposited to the diesel particulate filter based on differential pressure between the upstream side and the downstream side of the diesel particulate filter and regenerating the diesel particulate filter based on the estimated amount of deposited particulate substances, and is configured such that by raising temperature of exhaust gas to target temperature set at temperature higher than active temperature of the oxide catalyst through the control means after the oxide catalyst has reached to the active temperature, first regenerative control can be performed which removes, by burning, the particulate substances deposited to the diesel particulate filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
