<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust that is generated after removing the slag over molten pig iron by a mechanical removing device such as a slag dragger, from being generated as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A dust generation prevention method sprays lime powder having the particle size of 3-5 mm or less at 80-130 kg/min together with an inert gas at 10-20 Nm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>/min on the molten pig iron surface that is exposed by removing the slag 5 floating on the molten pig iron 1 in a molten pig iron pan 2 from the molten pig iron pan 2.
