<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device which is capable of shifting to a special mode customized by a user through simple operation, and a video display method. <P>SOLUTION: A video display device is capable of setting an operation mode for each user and comprises storage means in which an operation mode set for each user and a face image obtained by imaging the face of the user are stored in association with each other, imaging means which images the face of the user, determination means which determines that a face image corresponding to the face image picked up by the imaging means is stored in the storage means, display control means which displays an image for confirming a change of the operation mode in the case where it is determined that the face image corresponding to the face image picked up by the imaging means is stored in the storage means, and setting means which sets the operation mode of the video display device to an operation mode associated with the face image determined to be correspondent by the determination means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
