<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate capable of preventing durability deterioration, light leakage, yellowing and egg unevenness phenomenon under high temperature and high humidity environments and a liquid crystal display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a liquid crystal display device including a first polarizing plate and a second polarizing plate which are provided on both sides of a liquid crystal cell respectively. The first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate include a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizing film and a protective film which is provided on the both surfaces of the film, respectively. A protective film provided on a side opposite to the liquid crystal cell side of the polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizing film of the first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate has a steam permeability of 100 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>day or less and having a UV absorption function. A protective film provided on the liquid crystal cell side of the first polarizing plate and the second polarizing plate has a steam permeability of 200 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>day or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
