<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desalination apparatus which can produce a large amount of fresh water at higher speed compared with the desalination apparatus by the conventional evaporation method. <P>SOLUTION: The desalination apparatus produces fresh water by evaporating raw water to steam and then condensing the steam to fresh water. The desalination apparatus has a raw water tank for storing the raw water and a heater for heating the raw water. The desalination apparatus is constituted of a steam producing part for heating the raw water to produce pressurized steam, a conduit part in which steam is made to flow as a turbulence flow and a condensing part for cooling the steam ejected from the outlet of the conduit part to liquefy the steam to obtain fresh water.
