<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a frame frequency before pulled down, with respect to an input image pulled down with an arbitrary pull-down pattern. <P>SOLUTION: A pull-down period detector detects the pull-down pattern of a pulled-down input image, and a frame frequency calculator calculates on the basis of the pull-down pattern and a first frame frequency that is the frame frequency of the input image calculates a second frame frequency that is the frame frequency of the original image of the input image before pulled down. The technology can be applied to an image processing apparatus which converts the frame rate of an input image which has been pulled down with a predetermined pull-down pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
