<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the quality of sheets stacked on a sheet-feeding tray. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a sheet feeder 20 including: a sheet-feeding tray 21 on which a plurality of sheets P are stacked; a tracer 24 which traces the end part of the sheets P stacked on the sheet-feeding tray 21; a moving means (22) for moving the sheet-feeding tray 21 and the tracer 24 relative to each other; a sound-pickup means (26) for picking up the tracing sound generated by the moving action of the tracer 24 moved by the moving means (22) upon tracing the end part of the sheets P; and a controller 80 determining the quality of the sheets P based on the tracing sound picked up by the sound-pickup means (26). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
