The present invention provides a method for route transmission based on a single IPv6 address prefix, and a wireless device. The method comprises: when a wireless device succeeds in IPv6-based dialing and obtains a 64-bit-long IPv6 address prefix from a network side, the wireless device first dividing a 126-bit IPv6 address prefix from the prefix, and then allocating the 126-bit IPv6 address prefix to a WAN port, allocating the 64-bit-long IPv6 address prefix to a LAN port, and notifying the IPv6 prefix of the LAN port to a user terminal connected thereto, so that the user terminal connected to the LAN port creates, through a stateless address auto-configuration mechanism, its own IPv6 address for communication. According to the technical solutions of the present invention, in an IPv4/IPv6 dual stack mode, IPv4 and IPv6 protocol stacks work normally, and the air interface resource consumption is reduced.
