<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular plastic tile which: can sustain heavy loads; has non-slip characteristics; can be effectively joined together; can be provided in a plurality of colors per tile; and can be manufactured easily and inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: A plastic floor tile 102 comprises: a tile body 104 of a first polymer compound; and features overmolded onto the tile body from a second polymer compound. The polymer compounds are different from each other in hardness and/or color. The features include raised cushion members 106 on the upper surface and/or skins on support member cores downwardly depending from the tile lower surface. The cushion members 106 on the upper surface are injection-molded from the lower surface through through-holes. Lateral edges 202 and 204 of the tile 102 are provided with latches 206 which fit into loops 208 with an interference. The loops 208 flex in order to impose a compressive force on mating tile edges.
