METHOD FOR ADMINISTRATION OF DPD INHIBITORY SUBSTANCE IN COMBINATION WITH 5-FU PRODRUG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for administration of a DPD inhibitory substance in combination with 5-FU and/or 5- FU prodrug.

SOLUTION: Provided is the improved method for administration or medication of the DPD inhibitory substance combined with 5-FU and/or 5-FU prodrug, including a first administration of the DPD inhibitory substance capable of substantially losing the activity of DPD enzyme to a patient having need thereof followed by a second administration of 5-FU or 5-FU prodrug. The level of 5-FU or 5-FU prodrug is to be higher than that of DPD inhibitory substance in the patient. In a particular embodiment, the 5-FU or 5-FU prodrug is administered at least about 4 hours after the administration of the DPD inhibitory substance.
