<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device that is aesthetically pleasing and lightweight, yet durable, and also provide methods for assembling the portable electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: A handheld electronic device includes at least a single seamless housing. The seamless housing has a front opening, and integrated bottom and side walls that cooperate with the front opening to form a cavity. The bottom wall has a curved bottom surface. The side walls are rounded to form a curved side surface and an undercut within the cavity. An edge of the side walls surrounds and defines the front opening.
