<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce restriction on a processing target position for processing where a recording medium is processed, in a recording device performing recording on the recording medium and processing of cutting, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 2 includes a cutter unit 25 which is provided in the predetermined position of a conveyance path where roll paper 22 is conveyed and performs cutting processing to the roll paper 22 in the position and a BM (black mark) sensor 64 which is provided in the predetermined position of the conveyance path and detects a BM provided on the roll paper 22 at a predetermined interval in a conveyance direction.
