A pentamethine cyanine fluorescent dye with N-substituting atβ-position of conjugated chain is disclosed. The dye reacts with biosubstrate including protein, liposome and DNA, and shows excellent selectivity. It has good living cell membrane permeability and shows good selectivity in living cell staining In addition, the dye has good stability and low background fluorescence, and can be used together with other fluorescent dyes having consistent wavelengths for single-channel excitation and multi-channel detection.
