The invention relates to a method and network device for generating tunneling forwarding entries. The primary master node in a Virtual cluster Network Element (VNE) generates, according to a pre-configured tunneling service, the tunneling service information with the VEN as a single network element; the primary master node determines the multiple nodes passed by the tunnel, which is corresponding to the tunneling service information, in the VNE, and determines the node states of the multiple nodes passed by the tunnel in the VNE; the local tunneling forwarding entries are generated, according to the tunneling service information and the node states of the multiple nodes passed by the tunnel in the VNE, for the multiple nodes passed by the tunnel in the VNE respectively. The invention enables the VNE to support the tunneling function, and simplifies the network structure as the VEN comprising multiple physical nodes is represent only as a single device to other devices, thereby facilitating the network management. |
