The present invention relates to a steam separator for a gas boiler in which a contact area between projections, each having a cone shape, which are disposed on an exhaust passage of a packing and a valve plate of an opening/closing member is increased to improve water tightness in a close state of the exhaust passage and simplify a structure of the steam separator, thereby improving durability and productivity of the packing. To this end, the steam separator includes: a main body having a water inlet hole in a lower portion thereof and an exhaust hole in a side of an upper portion thereof; a float elevated according to a change of a water level of water for heating filled into a sealed space within the main body; a packing installed in the exhaust hole of the main body to form an exhaust passage from a center thereof in a horizontal direction; and an opening/closing member operated by being linked with the elevation of the float, the opening/closing member having a cone-shaped projection for opening or closing the exhaust hole formed in the packing. A concave groove spaced radially outward from the exhaust passage and having a predetermined depth along a circumference direction is formed in an inner front end of the packing. Also, the cone-shaped projection of the opening/closing member surface-contacts a contact part formed between the concave groove and the exhaust passage and having a predetermined width. |
