Steam generator (1), in particular for a solar thermal power plant, comprising: a pressure container (2); a heat transfer medium circuit with a heat transfer medium for absorbing solar energy in the form of heat; a water/steam circuit with water, wherein the heat transfer medium circuit and the water/steam circuit are coupled to one another thermally in the steam generator (1), wherein the water/steam circuit is provided for a forced-flow steam generator and comprises a feed-water preheater (3), an evaporator (4) and a superheater (5) which are accommodated in the pressure container (2); wherein the heat transfer medium circuit comprises at least one water/steam pipe which is accommodated in the pressure container (2) and is coupled thermally to the feed-water preheater (3), the evaporator (4) and the superheater (5), wherein the at least one water/steam pipe extends in the interior of the pressure container (2) from an inlet (9, 10), which is arranged in the pressure container (2) in the region of the feed-water preheater (3), as far as an outlet in the region of the superheater (5).
