Disclosed is a method for self-composing a ring back tone by a user, comprising: after receiving a self-composed ring back tone sent by a user terminal, a ring back tone center normalizing and storing ring back tone content in the self-composed ring back tone; and when the user terminal is called, the ring back tone center playing the self-composed ring back tone of the user terminal to a calling user terminal. Further disclosed is a ring back tone center. The present invention can improve the personal experience of a user and satisfy the personalized demand of the user.
