<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounting type light emitting device which is small in discoloration caused by thermal degradation, is excellent in thermal discoloration resistance, has long life, is easy in removing burrs, has a relatively low price, and further is excellent in storage stability, handleability and workability of a material. <P>SOLUTION: A surface mounting type light emitting device includes: a first resin body 40 comprising a dry unsaturated polyester resin compact; and a second resin body 50 covering a light emitting element 10. In a bottom surface 40a of a recessed part 40c of the first resin body 40, a first lead 20 mounting the light emitting element 10 thereon is exposed, and a resin insulating part 45 for insulating the first lead 20 and a second lead 30 is provided. The dry unsaturated polyester resin compact is obtained by molding a resin composition containing 14-40 mass% of an unsaturated polyester resin in which an unsaturated alkyd resin and a crosslinking agent are mixed and 44-74 mass% of the total of inorganic fillers and white pigments, while the content of the white pigments is equal to or more than 30 mass% based on the total of the inorganic fillers and the white pigments. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
