<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupling device whose mounting is easy, with no expensive component used, capable of individually monitoring an optical output of a proximal laser diode. <P>SOLUTION: The optical coupling device includes a laser diode array 1 in which laser diodes 1a and 1b are arranged in parallel, and a monitor diode 4 for individually monitoring optical outputs of the laser diode array 1. The laser diode array 1 and the monitor diode 4 are optically coupled through a ball-like lens 3. In the optical coupling device, the monitor diode 4 is arranged with its light receiving surface looking up, and the laser diode array 1 includes a sub mount 5 arranged by way of a laser diode array mounting stage 2. The ball-like lens 3 causes emission light 9a and 9b emitted from the two laser diodes 1a and 1b contained in the laser diode array 1 to travel downward from above in the ball-like lens 3 crossing each other, to be radiated on the light receiving surfaces of the monitor diode 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
