Disclosed in the present invention are a method and a system for multiple address-prefixes assignment, wherein the method comprises: a wireless device notifies a gateway general packet radio service (GPRS) support node (GGSN) the number N of address-prefixes to be applied; the GGSN determines the number M of address-prefixes capable to be assigned, and assigns M address-prefixes for said wireless device, wherein N and M both are integer greater than 1. As the scheme presented above, corresponding address-prefixes can be assigned to wireless devices according to the actual need, the prefix source can be assigned and used rationally, and the system capability is improved.
