<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product which is provided with an encoding pattern which satisfies requested conditions to a degree equal to or more than a well-known encoding pattern does. <P>SOLUTION: An encoding pattern is provided with a plurality of reference positions; each of plural marks is associated with one of the reference positions; and the value of each mark is determined from the position of the mark relative to the reference position. Therefore, the place of a mark can easily be determined by only searching for the mark at a predetermined distance from the reference position, which reduces risks of errors. Furthermore, detection and decoding are simplified because it is sufficient enough to detect that the mark is at a proper distance from the reference position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
