<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device of projection type which can reduce a sense of discomfort due to the trapezoidal distortion of an image frame by using a simple method, and which also is capable of new kind of expression. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 10 comprises a display unit 11 which emits display light L showing a display image 20, a projected member 14 which shows the display image 20 reflecting the display light L, storage means 16 which stores the display image 20 therein, and control means 15 which, after acquiring the display image 20 from the storage means, controls the display unit 11. The storage means 16 stores therein a correction image 30 which was created so as to include an effective display part 31 consisting of part of the display image 20 and a gradation adjustment part 32 which surrounds the effective display part 31 and whose brightness gradually decreases from there toward the outside.
